Ewan's Trackday
or the big jessies guide to getting your knee down..........

Ewan's photos from the last Trackday at Knockhill are in the Image Gallery . . . when did he get that bike ? Anyway, good set of photos, and nice to see someone wearing Knee sliders for more than just a fashion accessory. . Looks like a lot of fun !!!
A last minute decision saw me (Ewan) at Knockhill for the final bike track day of the year. Track temperatures were cold and damp but within half an hour there was a good dry line all the way round. The morning session I just tooled around getting the feel of the place then the red flag came out as a guy on an Aprilia tuono binned it coming out of Clark’s the corner before hairpin. It was a good advert for crash bungs as both his frame sliders the front wheel slider and an exhaust carbon protector were wrecked but no real damage to the bike apart from the rear brake lever being bent and scratching the frame slightly.
The afternoon session set off and after a few laps to warm the tyres I started to pick up the pace a bit. A few more laps and I was no longer a knee slider virgin touching down on 4 of the seven corners. There was not to many guys out there so there was loads of room on track. Every lap felt better and better,a mate of mine timed me and I was doing 58 second laps (the best I'd done before was 63's). I went round and round with a big grin under my lid till I had a big slide on the run down to the hairpin so decided I'd done enough and packed up before I chanced my luck to far.

This was by far the best track day I'd been on and can hardly wait till next year for more of the same. For an adrenaline fueld day on the bike I would recommend it to anyone . There were all different bikes there sports bikes, commuters, supermotos and all different levels of ability . It's not just for the fast guys and if you just ride at your own pace It's perfectly safe ,so go on get yourself out there next season and add a new experience to your biking.
